Lebkuchen is the German word for gingerbread. The Lebkuchen capitol of Germany is Nuremberg, which is where the Schuhmann factory is based.
For centuries, the recipe for the “Oblaten-Lebkuchen,” which we call Lebkuchen Rounds, has remained a secret combination of ingredients and spices from the world over.
The Schuhmann large, chocolate-covered gingerbread cookies come in pretzel and star shapes which are packaged in gingerbread house-shaped gift boxes. These delicious treats make wonderful teachers and hostess gifts in the holiday season.
