Niederegger Marzipan

Although marzipan originated in the Orient and later made its way to Europe during the Crusades, Lubeck Germany has become world renowned for the production of some of the finest marzipan across the globe. Niederegger has been producing marzipan delicacies in Lubeck for centuries and the city and company have become inextricably linked within the minds and hearts of the faithful.

To say that Niederegger has a loyal following would be an understatement, but the underlying reason for this almost cult following is quite simple, the original recipe has remained unchanged for more than 200 years.

Today Niederegger offers a wide variety of products which range from the traditional loaves to chocolate bars, tortes, sticks, shapes, and gift boxes to name but a few. Niederegger has also added fruit, nut and other flavorings to enhance the scope of their already impressive product range. To complete our offerings, seasonally we carry a range of Easter and Christmas holiday items.

Here are just a few of our everyday best sellers with a brief description of each.

Niederegger loaves – A very traditional offering, marzipan loaves are covered in a thin layer of bittersweet chocolate and range in size from 1.6 ounces to 10.5 ounces. They are most often shared and are typically sliced into thin pieces before passing the plate around to friends and family.

Niederegger Sticks – A modern approach to the everyday marzipan fan, this convenient stick version is sectioned off to allow someone to break off a piece to share or save part of the stick for later. The chocolate ratio is a little thicker than a traditional loaf but the center of the stick is simply marzipan. We currently carry three stick items.

Niederegger loaves in bulk – An individually wrapped bite sized piece of marzipan covered in a thin layer of bittersweet chocolate. This item is primarily meant to be your own decadent treat, sharing it would prove to be difficult, at least for most marzipan lovers.
